Felician to Host 6th Annual Ethics Conference on April 21

Meta-ethics, environmental ethics, reason, and moral psychology are among the topics to be explored at Felician College's 6th Annual Ethics Conference. The event, which is open to the public, will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Sister Theresa Mary Martin Hall (formerly Becton Hall), on Felician’s Rutherford campus, 223 Montross Avenue.

The plenary session will feature Dr. Douglas P. Lackey, Baruch College and Graduate Center, City University of New York.  His presentation is titled “Abortion and Resurrection.”

 

Other presenters and commentators will include members of the philosophical community throughout the New Jersey area as well as from: Duke University, Mansfield University, Florida State University, Fordham University, Marymount Manhattan College, Brooklyn College, Alvernia University, College of Staten Island and CUNY Graduate Center, Marist College, LaGuardia Community College, Hobart and William Smith College, Texas State University, and the University of Pennsylvania.

 

Conference registration begins at 8:45 a.m. in the lobby of Martin Hall; presentations last until 5:15 pm, followed by a reception. Registration is free to all members of the Felician College community (faculty, students, staff, administration), and $20 for members of the public.
