Margaret Vallone Gardineer, Ph.D. Associate professor of English

Dr. Gardineer has served as a United Nations representative for Kappa Delta Pi (2009-2012) and currently serves as a delegate to the Modern Language Association, the professional organization for people involved with the humanities.

Field of Interest

Dr. Gardineer’s academic interests span mentoring senior research and teaching English courses such as developmental English, composition, children’s literature, American literature, literary theory, multiethnic literature  and comparative literature.  She facilitates the learning in her classes in traditional classrooms through electronic delivery such as on-line, hybrid and eCompanion. As an extension of her teaching and scholarship, Dr. Gardineer has accepted invitations to give presentations to university faculty in the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Africa, as well and teaching in the Felician College Study Abroad Program. Additionally, she has published poetry and also published an article about the classics and film, and, with Dr. Maria Vecchio, an article about creating an interdisciplinary honors course.  Dr. Gardineer regularly gives presentations on various aspects of children’s literature, comparative literature and writing in the disciplines.
