Student to Attend College Housing Conference

Felician College senior Pananya “Penny” Kamkourkong has been chosen to attend next month’s conference of the Mid-Atlantic Association of College and University Housing Officers (MACUHO), announced Laura Barry, Director of Residence Life.

Every year, MACUHO invites 12 undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing a career in Student Affairs to be part of the Volunteer Incentive Program for Students (VIPS), which was established to work in conjunction with residence life officials on campuses.

“Penny is very involved in a wide range of volunteer projects,” said Ms. Barry. “She has spent her summers and semester breaks volunteering in Haiti and Israel. She is a credit to Felician College.”

Ms. Kamkourkong, a Thailand native, is an accounting major and a resident assistant on the Rutherford campus. She is the first Felician student to apply and participate in VIPS. In all, 84 students applied; just 12 were chosen. The conference is scheduled for early November in Baltimore.

“I am positive Penny will represent Felician in a positive light,” said Ms. Barry.
