Felician Student-Athletes Recognized
Thirty-one Felician College student-athletes have been named winners of the Division 2 Athletics Directors Association (D2ADA) Academic Achievement Awards for 2012-13. The Academic Achievement Award is a program that recognizes accomplishments of student-athletes at the NCAA Division 2 level.
In order to be recognized with a D2ADA Academic Achievement Award, recipients must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher, have attended college for at least four semesters, and have been an active member of an intercollegiate athletic team during his/her last academic year. The recipient’s athletics director must also be a current dues-paying member of the D2ADA.
Felician easily topped the 22 winners it claimed in 2011-12. The women’s soccer team led the way with nine honorees, followed by the softball team with eight.
Nationally, a record number of institutions (169) and student-athletes (6,801) were recognized, including 269 student-athletes from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.
