Mary, Leban MSN, M.Ed.

Mary Leban is an Instructor in the Prelicensure Nursing Program at Felician University. Ms. Leban joined the Felician University faculty in 2015. A second degree nurse, Ms. Leban came to nursing as a career change after being a high school science teacher. After more than 10 years acute care oncology experience, Ms. Leban went back to school of become a family nurse practitioner.  She currently maintains active certifications as both a pediatric and adult oncology nurse and is one of less than 300 nurses in the country to carry two active ONCC certifications.  She continues to work as a family nurse practitioner and maintains an interest in adult survivors of childhood cancers.  A dedicated educator, Ms. Leban enjoys introducing students to the nursing profession by teaching them how to, “think like a nurse”.  She continues to studied educational pedagogy including how best to help students develop clinical judgement skills.  Ms. Leban earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Biology from Tulane University in New Orleans,  her Master’s in Education from Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, MI and both her Bachelors and Masters in Nursing from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, NJ.
