Catholic Director of Campus MInistry

Felician College is a Roman Catholic, Franciscan College sponsored by the Felician Sisters. The Director of Campus Ministry is responsible to initiate and administer activities and programs centering on inter-faith dimensions of the lives of all members on the Felician College community. The successful candidate will be a visible presence on both the Rutherford and Lodi campuses, well-versed in current campus ministry practices and have a genuine interest in and experience dealing with college students. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Work collaboratively with the Student Affairs Staff and the Vice President for Mission Integration, to understand and promote the Franciscan/Catholic identity of the Institution. Plan and implement programs to foster the spiritual development of an inter-faith, multicultural campus community. Actively participate in planning and promoting mission centered community education and development programs. Collaborate with campus and local members of the clergy to plan and promote College liturgical services, including Roman Catholic Mass and various special liturgies, both within the Catholic traditional and other denominations. Provide spiritual direction and pastoral counseling for the campus community, when needed. Supervise the Campus Ministry staff, administer the Campus Ministry budget, conduct on-going assessment and evaluation of the departments goals. Work with the Music Department to provide music for all campus-wide liturgical services. Serve as a member of the Student Affairs crisis response team, when necessary This is a 12-month position

A Master's degree in Pastoral Counseling,Theology or Counseling is required.
Qualifications:

Minimum of two to three years in college level Campus Minstry, strong desire to work with traditional and non-traditional age college students, excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to relate to persons in crisis situations, maintain appropriate confidentiality, establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff and the community, the ability to organize and direct work operations, ability to work nights, weekend and be on-call for emergency situations.
