Library Instruction Sessions
Librarians at the Felician College Library are available to visit your classroom (or division/department meeting or club/organization meeting) to talk about how to do research. Please fill out the Library Instruction Request Form to let us know more about your library session needs. Typically, within two business days after completion of the form, your department’s library liaison will be in touch with you. If the purpose of the library session is assignment-based (the preferable approach), your library liaison will request a copy of that assignment to help with preparation for the library instruction session. To allow librarians to prepare fully, faculty are asked to make their request(s) for library instruction at least two weeks in advance.
Faculty members should inform their students where these materials will be located and what parameters for use they have placed on the materials so there are no surprises when their students approach the Circulation Desk. Parameters for use may include limits on loan periods, restrictions on photocopying, a “Library use only” restriction, etc. Faculty are encouraged to call 201-559-6071 or e-mail the Library (Library@felician.edu) for more information.

Reserves
The Reserves Collection is located behind the Library Circulation Desk on the Lodi campus. Reserve materials are considered high-demand items required for certain courses. Faculty wishing to place materials on reserve are asked to bring their materials to the Circulation Desk along with a completed Reserves Request Form for each individual request.
Requests to place materials on reserve typically take two business days to process. Once processed, patrons will be able to search for reserves on the Library's Online Catalog. After clicking on “Reserves” at the top, patrons may search for reserve items by instructor, course number, or course name.
eReserves
Felician College Library faculty with access to an eCompanion or eCourse site on eCollege may choose to place certain course materials on eReserves. Faculty wishing to utilize this service are asked to bring their materials to the Circulation Desk on the Lodi campus along with a completed eReserves Request Form and Fair Use Checklist for each individual request. Within a week of receiving your request, library staff will scan these materials and e-mail to the faculty member a separate PDF file for each request made. Faculty is expected to then upload these PDF files to the “Doc Sharing” tab on their eCollege course site.
Please note that the Library works hard to ensure it complies with U.S. copyright and fair use laws. Due to this, one of the restrictions we place on eReserve requests each semester is that faculty may only request the digitization of 1 chapter per book, 1 article per journal, up to a maximum of 25 requests total per semester.
Interlibrary Loan
If the Felician College Library does not own or subscribe to the book or article that you need, we try to borrow it from another library. Patrons are asked to complete the appropriate interlibrary loan (ILL) form, available both online as well as at the Circulation Desk, to request such materials: article, book, book chapter.
ILL materials take an average of two weeks to arrive. The Library will call you to let you know when your requested item is available for you to pick up. If your request is filled electronically, we will send it to you as an e-mail attachment instead.
Please note that you are responsible for the timely return of all ILL materials. Fines for overdue ILL materials are 10 cents per calendar day and may result in the loss of ILL privileges, holding of grades and transcripts, and possible disciplinary action by the College. Please see our Policies page for more information.
Access to Other New Jersey Libraries
The Felician College Library is a member of theVALE Reciprocal Borrowing Program. This allows current faculty and students to visit and borrow books directly from many of the college and university libraries in New Jersey. In order to participate in this program, faculty and students must bring their current College ID to the Felician College Library's circulation desk and complete a form for each library from which they would like to borrow. Please note that any items borrowed through this program must be returned to the library from which they were borrowed.
